Get closer to nature.
It’s often about reconnecting with nature. Off-road adventuring can be difficult if you are in a cabin. The Jeep Gladiator will be able to bring the outdoors inside with removable roofs, doors, and other tricks. The company today confirmed that it will be offering new half-doors from its Jeep Performance Parts Division. They are now available.
Half-doors at Jeep have spread from the Wrangler which received them earlier in the year to the Gladiator. Half doors can be purchased through the Mopar Custom Shop for original US-vehicle purchase. Gladiator’s Dual Door Group offers both full-size and half-door versions. There are two versions depending on which upper-window assemblies you choose.
Although the materials used in the assemblies are different, they feature weather-tight seals and zippered plastic windows. The base model has a soft-top vinyl roof. The other is made for premium soft-top options. Base-model doors are priced at $4,590. Premium doors are $4,990 and include both sets of doors. Trucks that are part of the Dual-Door Group get the full-size doors and the half-doors inside.
Jeep designed the doors to be compatible with Gladiator’s factory equipment. This includes power mirrors and passive and non-passive entry handle, power locks, blind-spot detection, and power locks. According to the company, swapping the doors takes only minutes. The half doors use the same hinge locations and wiring connections as the original doors. The new Dual-Door Group is included as part of the company’s new vehicle three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
Although the Gladiator’s half door packages are more expensive than those for the Wranglers, they offer both types of doors. The growth of crossovers and SUVs has led to off-roading becoming more popular. New competitors such as the Ford Bronco keep Jeep busy.
