These Jeeps can be used on beaches.
Spring Break is just around the corner, even though some areas are still under snow or experiencing bitter cold. Jeep introduced its tropical Islander moniker earlier this week – first used back in 1988 for special Renegade versions and Wrangler. These two Jeeps are custom painted and have special features. They’re ready to hit the beaches, weather permitting.
The Wrangler’s base trim is the Sport S trim (both two-door and four-door models). It also comes with Islander-specific exterior cues such as 17-inch Rubicon tires, a “Tiki Bob”, hood decal and a white three piece hardtop roof. Buyers have the option of 10 paint colors, including the Chief Blue shown here. There are also other fun shades such as Hellayella, Firecracker Red and Snazzberry.
The Wrangler Islander features black cloth seats and a Ceramic White mid-bolster. There is also an embroidered Islander logo with Surf Blue accent stitches. The dash is topped by a 7.0-inch touchscreen that supports Uconnect 4, standard Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Mopar’s optional Islander Plus Package adds grab handles and a cargo tub liner, solid sunscreen, and a Tiki Bob soft cover for your spare-tire.
The Renegade gets many of the same features as the Wrangler, including Tiki Bob decals and a white roof. It also has a custom interior that can be customized with the Optional Islander Plus package. The Renegade Islander has 19-inch wheels, compared to the Wranglers 17-inchers. It also gets only four paint options: Bikini (Jetset Blue), Glacier, Omaha Orange, and Glacier.
According to Jeep, both of these models can be purchased at your local dealer and are not very expensive. The Renegade Islander is $27,430 while the Wrangler Islander two-door model costs $33,370 and the four-door model $36,870.
