Every time we see the Emira, it looks better.
The historic brand’s final internal combustion car is represented by the all-new Lotus Emira. The Emira is expected to be available on dealer lots by late 2022. We will soon see Lotus’s new metal in action. The Emira traveled to Goodwood Festival Of Speed, where great cars do a shakedown run up the hill climb before production. The Lotus Emira is driven along by Jenson Button, Formula One driver, and Shmee, car Youtuber.
As Lotus’s entry-level sportcar, the Lotus Emira replaces Evora and Elise. Lotus has received a fresh infusion of cash from parent company Geely. It now has a brand new production facility that can mass-produce and build hypercars such as the all-electric Evija.
The Lotus Emira will compete with the Porsche Cayman/Boxster. It promises a similar fit-and-finish to its German counterpart. Three drivetrain options will be available for the Emira. These include a supercharged Toyota V6 coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission, and a turbocharged Mercedes-AMG inline-4 mated by a dual-clutch transmission.
Lotus is the best when it comes to creating the perfect driver’s vehicle. Lotus’s ability create engaging machines is a tribute to Colin Chapman, its founder who wanted to make simple lightweight cars. Simple and lightweight cars don’t always sell in today’s market, as most buyers prefer features to driver engagement. However, Lotus’s loyal fan base continues to make Lotus products more desirable than ever.
