The vast majority of cars’ new generations replace the older one. There are exceptions every now and again. One of these exceptions is the Niro, which is the original model that was launched in 2016. It is still available even though Kia has recently released its successor. The Niro Plus crossover was renamed. It now has the updated corporate badge.
The Kia Niro Plus vehicle was revealed at the end April. Kia described it as a purpose-built vehicle that is suitable for both taxi operators and ride-hailing service providers. We now know that there is also a camper model. It has been lengthened by 10 millimeters (0.4 in) and its height increased by 80mm (3.1in). The result is that there is now more legroom and headroom for passengers who are seated in the back.
Asian Petrolhead spent time with the vehicle. It now has a grab handle at the B-pillar, and a red reflector in the rear doors cards to increase safety. As an accessory, the camping items include an air mattress and table as well as a chair and storage bag. The Niro can be equipped with a tailgate protector as well as a table. The crossover is outdoorsy thanks to a variety of storage nets and a household plug.
The video shows the electric model but Kia also offers the Niro Plus, a plug-in hybrid. People looking for a small camper may not care much about 0-60 mph times. However, the EV can complete the sprint in 6.9 seconds. It doesn’t feel much different from the first-generation model because it isn’t that big.
The Niro Plus is a reliable car that we would be happy to see in the foreign market, as an affordable alternative to the more expensive and fancier models.
