Is there any chance we will see a brand new Koenigsegg hypercar in 2022?
While there were many ways that automakers could welcome the New Year via social media, Koenigsegg decided to go big and tease a new hypercar. The teaser read: “Dear 2022” – A resolution by the Swedish automaker. It was posted on the company’s Facebook Page. Here’s the deal!
Teaser image shows a silhouette of a Koenigsegg supercar. Adobe Photoshop was used to modify the image to reveal hidden details. We failed to succeed.
The angled taillights look very similar to the 2006 CCX’s. This was the first Koenigsegg engine developed in-house. The subtle rear diffuser refers to the Agera. The CCR 2004 front splitter is inseparable from it. The design execution is in keeping with the Koenigsegg theme of a teardrop cabin, wrap-around windshield and smooth lines.
What could the upcoming Koenigsegg look like? Our guesses are just as valid as ours. If we had to guess, 2022 marks the 20th anniversary Koenigsegg’s first production supercar. Although the new hypercar may pay tribute to this milestone, we ask that you take it with a pinch of salt.
We’ll hear more about the Swedish marque in the coming months. We’ll soon learn more about the upcoming model, which hopefully will satisfy internal combustion engine enthusiasts.
