Lamborghini to Launch the Final Pure Gasoline Car in 2022

The end is near for an era of the Italian marque.

We know that Lamborghini will be saying goodbye to internal combustion engines in the second half the decade. You only have one year to save up enough money to purchase a Lamborghini supercar.

According to Automotive News Europe Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, stated that the company will no longer offer combustion engines.

Winkelmann stated that the company is on the right track for 2022. This refers to Lamborghini’s all-time record sales record of 8,405 vehicles delivered in 2021. Nearly 60% of this number is due to the Urus SUV’s sales, which moved 5,021 units around the world.

In preparation for electrifying their lineup, the Italian marque will introduce four new models this year . The company did not specify when or what it would reveal. It is possible that the Aventador replacement will be one of four models. This follows the Aventador Ultimae which was the last pure V12 the company offers.

Lamborghini has made a large investment in electrification. According to reports, 1.5 billion euros ($1.7 million) was allocated by the company for the transition to plug in hybrids. The first Lamborghini plug in hybrid Lamborghini models will be available as soon as 2023. In 2025, the pure battery-electric Lamborghini will see the light of day.

With strong support from the VW Group, the future looks electric for the Italian automaker. Winkelmann stated that the final design for the Lamborghini EV is still being developed. Also, a four-door model that is “suitable for daily use” has been considered.
