We have already seen the Aventador replacement in testing.
Lamborghini closed 2021 with setting a new sales record. The Urus SUV accounted for almost 60% of that. Lamborghini wants to continue its sales success so it has big plans in 2022. One line was hidden in the 2022 sales report. It stated that the company plans to introduce four new products within the next twelve months. Unfortunately, the company did not specify when or what it would reveal.
“In 2022, we’ll do our best to consolidate our current performance and prepare for the arrival of the future hybrid range starting in 2023,” stated Stephan Winkelmann (Lamborghini CEO).
It is difficult to not read Winkelmann’s words, and imagine the company preparing for a new age. It is still unclear how Lamborghini’s future will unfold. The plans are to electrify Lamborghini’s lineup with hybrid powertrains. This will be done by 2024. We might also see the first results of that effort in 2022. A fully-electric model will be available after 2025. However, it is possible that this may not happen soon enough.
The Aventador has been around for over ten years, while the Huracan is not far behind. After the launch of the final Ultimae- Aventador model in July, Lamborghini’s replacement for the Aventador has been seen out testing. This could be the replacement for one of four new products that the company will unveil this year.
The Lamborghini Urus needs to be refreshed at mid-cycle. This could also mean that one of the four vehicles will not break cover over the next twelve months. Lamborghini updated the Huracan model last year with the introduction the STO. The company may leave that model as is. The two remaining reveals are still a mystery. In the next few months, we expect to see Lamborghini 2022’s product rollout.
