Is it possible for a turbocharged SUV to sport a Lambo badge with VAG roots?
The Urus is Lamborghini’s second SUV model and it’s polarizing design is making people more curious. Is it right that a Audi Q7-powered vehicle should be given the Lambo badge? A new Walkaround Video from TopGear attempts to shed more light on this super SUV.
Let’s be clear: the Urus isn’t a supercar with a V12 engine, but a front-engine SUV. It’s not a Q7 in an Italian suit. Despite the shared platform, the Urus’ V10 and Aventador’s V12 cannot fit under the hood. There are tons of modifications between the two vehicles. The 4.0-liter biturbo motor produces 650 horsepower (484 Kilowatts) as well as 627 pound-feet (685 Newton-meters). This is enough to get the vehicle from 0-60 miles per hours (0-96 km/h) in a respectable time of 3.6 seconds. Q7, can you do it?
There’s more to the Urus than just the numbers. It is the first Lamborghini ever to be able to accommodate adults in its back seats, and it can most likely tow your caravan. Lambo owners won’t travel without their caravans, as you probably know.
Our TopGear colleagues ask the big question: Is this car going to succeed for Lamborghini. It’s a well-made Volkswagen Group product. However, it is unlikely that it will be a huge success on the market. This car will bring new customers to Volkswagen Group and make the manufacturer more money to invest in its future supercars. This doesn’t sound bad, right?
Another Urus walkaround video has been added by Mr on YouTube. It was filmed at Dubai’s largest Lamborghini dealership.
