Number 40 will be sold to someone in Europe.
It seems like yesterday that we first saw the stunning Bugatti DIVO. It was actually three years ago that the coach-built hypercar was unveiled. Bugatti presented the Chiron-based Divo at Pebble Beach in 2018. It’s fitting that this last example graces the international stage just weeks before the 2021 gala.
If the owner doesn’t ship the car to California, this one will not make an appearance. Bugatti states that the final Divo of the 40-unit production run was to a European owner. This car looks more traditional than some of the unusual colors on other models. The exterior is a primary color of Bugatti EB110 LM Blue with Blue Carbon as the secondary contrast. You’ll find more Blue, particularly French Racing Blue with Deep Blue, and flat gray carbon.
It feels classic, but it is still an original car. Bugatti claims that there aren’t any Divos in the entire production that match another. Bugatti allowed buyers to participate in the design process from the beginning. They were also very open to customizing colors and materials. This is not true for the Divo’s coachbuilt bodywork. It focuses more heavily on downforce thanks to its array of vents, and prominent central spine. The Bugatti’s skeleton is also there, as well as its heart: the quad-turbocharged W16 engine of 8.0-liters making 1,500 horsepower.
Bugatti took three years to complete the small number of Divos. Bugatti Chiron owners were the only ones who received the car, and they all went to great lengths to sell them. These buyers paid EUR5million ($5.8million) to have one in their garage. Given the rarity and unique nature of each car, we expect that its value will continue to rise over the years.
