LegoLand Florida will feature a life-size replica of the 1964.5 Lego Ford Mustang.
You are looking at 194,900 Lego blocks. These pieces were created to recreate the 1964.5 Ford Mustang V8 coupe in life-size. It is now LegoLand Florida Resort’s most popular attraction. It was created as part of a partnership between Southern Ford Dealers, Lego, and will be a permanent fixture at the park’s Ford Driving School attraction.
It measures 15 feet in length, six feet wide and four feet high. The car weighs in at 1,712 pounds. 960 are Lego and Duplo bricks. 752 is an aluminum chassis that was specifically designed for the build. It was designed by a team of master builders from Lego Systems, Inc. in Enfield, Connecticut and first presented at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September during the 40th anniversary celebration of Mustang Club of America.
This Mustang build will replace the full-size Ford Explorer Lego creation. It will also include a few new features that have never been seen in a Lego build this size. A virtual horn and a speaker emitting the sound of an actual Mustang V8 engine are hidden under the hood. Although the taillights and headlights work, it won’t allow you to drive it as much as you would like.
The final touches, such as the grille and badges, were executed in a manner that closely resembles the original. Even the color scheme is preserved in its original shade of blue. It is a stunning build that can be enjoyed by LegoLand Florida Resort fans for many years
