Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance Launch edition Debuts in Incognito Color

BBS forged wheels are lighter than standard wheels.

A limited edition of 500 Lexus IS 500 F Sports Performance Lexus is offering a Launch Edition that equips the performance sedan in a special color called Incognito. The company is planning to launch the four-door model in America this fall, although pricing has not yet been released.

Incognito is a gray shade with a hint of gloss that gives it a stealthy appearance. These vehicles are also equipped with 19-inch BBS forged wheels in matte black. They have a split-seven-spoke design in matte. They are four times lighter than the 19-inch IS F Sport standard design, according to Lexus.

The IS 500 F Sport Performance Launch Edition’s cabin features ultrasuede upholstery in gray and black that covers the doors, seats, and console. The heated steering wheel is accented with silver ash wood trim. In the instrument panel display, there is also a Launch Edition startup animation. The 500-unit production number is identified by a badge.

The F 500 F Sport Performance is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with 472 horsepower (352 kilowatts), and 395 pound feet (5535.5 Newton-meters), of torque at 4,800 revs. The output is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic.

Lexus claims that the V8 model can travel 60 miles an hour (96 km per hour) in just 4.5 seconds. It is estimated to get 24 miles per gallon of highway fuel economy.

The IS 500 F Sport Performance includes the Dynamic Handling package that includes an adaptive suspension system and Torsen limited slip differential. Yamaha also supplies a Yamaha rear performance damper, which improves structural rigidity. Instead of the 13.1 inches and 11.7 inch respectively for the IS 350 F Sport, the brakes are 14.0 inches front and 12.7 inches back. The latest Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is also included.
