It is a subtle visual enhancement.
Lexus last month announced that the RXL would get a limited-edition Black Line trim in the 2022 model year. The regular was not mentioned. Lexus has announced that the RX will also receive the Black Line treatment in 2022.
Both the Lexus RX 350 (and the RX450h) will have the Black Line trim. This trim gives both models a subtle visual makeover, with darkened trim and other upgrades. Black Line includes black 20-inch wheels, lug nuts, a lower bumper in black, black mirrors and a Lexus spindle grille. The trim’s details are more subtle at the rear. Lexus has replaced the nameplate badge with a black one. The Lexus RX Blackline 2022 will be available in Eminent White Pearl or Caviar.
Black interior continues with the use of open-pore wood trim in black, NuLuxe black seats and light gray contrast stitching on the seats, the steering wheels, the upper instrument panel and the center console. All the accessories of the Lexus Premium Package, which includes the Memory System and other features, are included on Black Line models. The Black Line trim offers a visual upgrade, but the crossover can still be stylish.
Lexus is limiting production of RX Black Line models, just as it did with the RXL Black Line. However, the smaller crossover will have a higher production. Lexus will produce 2,500 RX Black Line models in North America. 2,100 will be the gasoline model, while 400 will be hybrid. The RX 350 Black Line is priced at $49,450 and the 450h AWD at $52,150. Prices do not include the destination fee. This is a nearly $4,000 increase over the entry-level prices for both versions.
