Ariel Motor Company announced plans to introduce a limited edition Atom 3.0R with a variety of upgrades.

Ariel’s Atom 3.0 was unveiled in 2012. It featured a chassis that was derived from V8 and Mugen versions. Now, the company is preparing for a more powerful version. The same Honda Civic Type R 4-cylinder, supercharged 2.0-liter engine will power the new model. However, its output will rise from 310 bhp (231kW) to about 350 bhp (261kW) due to a new charge cooling system.

The engine will also be connected to a 6-speed Sadev paddle shift gearbox, which was derived from the Atom V8 and modified in this new application. The Atom 3.5R will use Ohlins’ TTX dampers and bespoke Kumho high performance tires.

The Atom 3.5R is already available for purchase at 80,000 GBP (135,00 USD / 97.500 EUR). Delivery of the Atom 3.5R will begin this summer after Ariel completes the vehicle’s special livery.
