Lucky Chinese customers…
The Lincoln Town Car, Lincoln’s full-size luxury sedan, was last sold in 2011. The Town Car was Ford’s flagship sedan for almost three decades. It was available in three generations over 30 model years. Lincoln has stopped making sedans in the United States . However, the automaker plans to make a new sedan for China that will, like the Town Car in the lineup.
The new luxury sedan will be made available in production form by Zephyr Reflection later this year. It was shown off at this year’s Auto Shanghai. Kolesa.ru was kind enough to give us a preview of the car. The renderings in the gallery below are their interpretation of a China-only Town Car.
The rendering and the official photos from Shanghai show that the front of the vehicle will remain the same for production. We found that the only small changes were at the bottom of the front bumper, where we noticed slightly more aggressive gills visualizing into similar-shaped side skirts.
There are however more important changes at the rear. The shape of the taillights is now more reminiscent of the Town Car’s previous generation. Modifications to the rear bumper include a more stylish and restrained design with rectangular exhaust pipes. The bumper now has smoother surfaces to better match the luxurious sedan.
It’s not likely that you will see a new Lincoln sedan in America. Automaker Ford has made it clear that the US business will be centered around SUVs and crossovers in America. The Zephyr Reflection production model will only be available for China. Sorry!
