Lotus Emira V6 First edition Full Specs and Performance Numbers Published

The automatic version is faster and has more torque, reaching speeds of up to 62 mph

It’s refreshing to hear about a sports car that doesn’t rely on electrification, as newsfeeds are dominated by EVs and SUVs. This is not a sports car. It’s also the first Lotus since many years. The model will replace the Elise, Exige and larger Evora. The Emira has been revealed in July. Now, the marque from Norfolk is releasing full technical specifications.

Emira V6 First Edition uses a Toyota 2GRFE engine, a 3.5 liter V6 equipped with an Edelbrock1740 supercharger. The engine produces 400 horsepower (296kilowatts), which is nearly identical to the new Nissan Z. However, the torque figure will vary depending on whether the vehicle has an automatic or manual transmission.

The six-cylinder’s torque output is 420 Newton-meters (311 pound-feet). A clutch pedal will deliver an additional 10 Nm to the auto. The Z produces 475 Nm (355 lb-ft) with its twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine V6.

Two-pedal versions have a faster acceleration and more torque, which results in a sprint time of 4.2 seconds (100 km/h), or one tenth of second less than the manual Emira. The new British mid-engined sports car, described as a “quantum leap forward” for Lotus, will reach speeds of 180 mph (290 km/h).

The First Edition includes all the bells & whistles. It comes with 20-inch alloy wheels in diamond-cut, two-tone finishes or an optional glossy black and silver look. The FE includes Lotus-branded brake calipers and a tire pressure monitoring device as standard equipment.

Five additional colors are available to complement the Seneca Blue launch colour: Magma Red (Hethel Yellow), Shadow Grey, Nimbus Grey and Dark Verdant. Additional hues will be added in 2022. All FE models come with the Lower Black Pack, which gives a glossy black appearance to the air blades in front bumper, front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser.

If you are looking for a more expensive Emira First Edition, the Driver’s Pack is available. This adds a Sport or Tour suspension set with Goodyear Eagle Supersport tires or a Sport suspension fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Lotus also offers a Design Pack that includes sports pedals, privacy glasses, an Alcantara-wrapped headliner, brake calipers in yellow, red and silver. The Convenience Pack includes front and rear parking sensors, rear luggage storage nets, automatic wipers, and auto-dimming lenses.

The Lotus Emira First Edition will be in production in Hethel next spring. In the UK, it costs PS75,995 and the automatic transmission is an additional PS1,800. It starts at EUR95,995 and includes EUR1,370 for an auto in Germany. The pricing for China and the US will be revealed in due time. The four-cylinder turbo-powered AMG version of the four-cylinder turbo will be available in fall 2022. A First Edition will also be available. A Base Edition will follow spring 2023 at PS59,995.
