This G63 is the most notable of all G-Wagen projects.
We’ve seen a lot of drastic changes to the G Class over the years. Mercedes even had a lot of fun with off-road legends by releasing limited-edition versions like the G63 6×6 or the G500 4×4 2. Mansory is a pioneer in wild G-Wagen transformations of the SUV.
The latest kit was originally designed as a new-generation HTML63. With the help of Phillip Plein, it became a ridiculous project. The “Star Trooper”, originally unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March, is an extravagant exercise in excess. From the “50 shades” camouflage, to the 24-inch wheels, and from the red LED lights, to the carbon fiber body parts, to the after-market body parts, the Star Trooper is a feat of engineering.
There’s also the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 engine. This has been modified to produce a staggering 850 horsepower and 1,000 Newton meters (737 pound-feet), of torque through larger turbos, high-performance exhaust, remapped electronic control unit, and other modifications. The G63 can go from 0-60 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. It also has an electronically controlled speed of 155 mph (253 kph).
Nearly every surface of the interior has been restyled. There’s even a starlight headliner in the same style as on a Rolls-Royce, and a button on its roof to turn on the LED light bar. The interior is dominated by leather, which is complemented with red contrasting stitching.
To become the “Star Trooper”, 20 G63s will have to be sacrificed. Mansory starts at EUR550,000, or $613,000.
