Manny Khoshbin Adds McLaren Speedtail To Hermes Collection

The bridge between automobile and spaceship.

Manny Khoshbin was a very proud owner of some special cars during his time as an online automotive personality. It’s difficult to challenge the status quo with two Hermes vehicles in his collection, including a Pagani Huayra as well as a Bugatti Chiron. But that will soon be the end as the real estate mogul grabs his McLaren Speedtail Hismes.

The hypercar was released in 2018 and aimed to be the undisputed king top-speed. It was capable of reaching speeds up to 250 mph (402 km/h), and was intended to be the Official successor to McLaren F1 in the 1990s . Although the Speedtail’s terminal velocity was surpassed by cars like the Bugatti Chiron in the past, the British automaker took a different approach with its Speedtail.

Contrary to Bugatti’s brute-force approach with its 300-mile an hour (482.3 km/h), Chiron Super Sport speedtail’s sole purpose is to go fast in a straightline. The Speedtail’s carbon-fiber body has been designed to glide through the air, powered by a 1,035 horsepower (772 kW), gas-electric motor. The hypercar’s body shape keeps it stable at high speeds and aero-efficiency.

We should mention that the hypercar’s digital mirrors are not legal in the United States. The Speedtail can be imported to the USA and registered for road use by the Show/Display exemption. This was passed in 1999. It allows vehicles that do not comply with federal standards to drive only 2,500 miles annually. Funny thing is, the McLaren F1 also had similar problems with its front crash protection.

Hermes, a luxury French designer that is known for its luxury and craftsmanship, allows manufacturers to use the high-quality leather it produces in their interiors. The brand has been balancing its ambition to be the best in the industry with its humanist values since 1837. The company is still family-owned and operates 43 production sites, as well as 311 retail outlets in 45 countries.

McLaren had only planned to make 106 examples of the special edition hypercar Manny, with a cost of $2,240,000 (EUR1,873,967, at current exchange rates). Although it may not be the fastest car on the planet, it is certainly one of the prettiest.
