It would be a great addition to the convertible model.
The Maserati MC20 supercar was revealed by the automaker earlier this month. The new model will be powered by a V6 engine, but Maserati has made small modifications to allow for an all-electric powertrain. The supercar will be available in coupe and convertible versions. However, one Behance.net artist decided to create a spider-version of the supercar.
These images change only the car’s roof position. However, the final silhouette feels more like a Ferrari than a Maserati if one squints. The MC20’s greenhouse shape is also affected by the loss of its roof. The roofline continues upward, before arching down at the rear. This is gone in the MC20 Spider renderings, altering the shape. Although it’s subtle, the change will not affect the original car’s design. It will open up the interior’s sleek, tech-packed space to the sky. Maserati spent over 2,000 hours creating the final shape of the car in the wind tunnel.
It should also be enjoyable to open-top drive. Twin-turbocharged and twin-combustion 3.0-liter V6 power the gas-powered version. It generates 621 horsepower (463 Kilowatts) as well as 538 pound-feet (538 kilowatts). The supercar’s power is transmitted through an eight speed dual-clutch auto that propels it to speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 201 mph (323 km/h).
Maserati did not release any details about the all electric version. The Italian automaker claims a 2.8 second 0-to-60-mph time, a top speed at 193 mph (310 km/h), and a range that covers 201 miles (323km), although the US number will likely be different. The $210,000 starting price for the car in the US is expected to be met by the vehicle. Maserati has not yet revealed any plans beyond the coupe, convertible and all-electric powertrain. Perhaps an MC20 Spider version of the car could be added.
