This would make a great halo car.
Maserati has a roadmap for the future that includes new models and electrification across its entire lineup. It omits the much-needed and essential single-seat speedster. It is known that Maserati will unveil a new sports car next year. This will include an electrified version and a new electrified ear. The GranTurismo will be replaced for one year. However, Maserati needs to go larger. As more EV enthusiasts seek to be part of the growing market, competition is fierce.
It is called the Maserati MilleMiglia. It was created by Luca Serafini who took inspiration from the Maserati 250F open-wheeled 6CM and Maserati 250F. The MilleMiglia rendering does not have the open-wheeled design from yesteryear’s racecars – safety regulations aside – but the wheels are pushed to all four corners of the low-slung speedster.
MilleMiglia’s rendering shows a curvaceous car with swooping lines running across its sheet metal. The halo car is finished in Italian Avio and combines classic Maserati styling and modern design cues. The unique rear taillights with LED daytime running lamps and the unique third brake light that runs vertically to the rear are outstanding. The small details, such as the side mirror stalks, look amazing. Also, the doors that open upward from the rear via a hinge are a great addition.
The Maserati MilleMiglia interior is equally detailed, with sand-beige throughout. The interior is driver-focused and features exposed carbon fiber such as the pentagon-shaped steering wheels. The driver is seated in the middle of car in a tub made of carbon fiber with what appears to be small infotainment displays. A five-point racing harness provides safety.
Maserati has ambitious plans for the future with new and refreshed models to enhance the range. It would be great to see a Maserati electrified halo car. It would be a huge hit, but it is unlikely that such a car will sell.
