McLaren 720S gets spray painted in the name of street art

An evening celebrating performance and art.

Most petrolheads will be astonished at the thought of spray painting a McLaren. 1016 Industry requested a project, but didn’t hire Joe Schmoe from the street. They collaborated with Alec Monopoly, a world-renowned street artist.

Monopoly rose to fame in 2008 for his Monopoly man, Richie Rich pieces and his worldwide success. Both of these are featured on the 720S art car. The passenger side of the vehicle is decorated with Richie Rich’s signature, while the driver’s side displays a Monopoly man with money bags and bills running throughout. Monopoly’s 720S is not standard. McLaren’s modified body is equipped with carbon fiber bodywork from 1016 Industries. This includes a race hood and front aero lip, lower back lip, side skirts, mirror caps, rear wings, rear diffuser, and rear diffuser.

The carbon fiber body pieces have a value of over $65,000 because they are made using 1016’s unique compression process. This results in carbon fiber pieces that are stronger, lighter and prettier than their counterparts. The carbon layup process of 1016 results in a marbled appearance upon completion. This car is a unique one for a special occasion. It was built specifically for the Art Basel exhibition in Miami, which is the most important art event in America.

Peter Northrop, CEO at 1016 Industries, said that it was a great honor to have the opportunity to collaborate with Alec Monopoly on a piece of art that highlights our 1016 industries McLaren 720S.
