These are some tips to help your G-Wagen get dirty.
Although the G Class is its most luxurious model, Mercedes won’t be losing its all-conquering roots. With a lesson from the “fastest woman four wheels,” we have seen the G-Wagen conquer muddy terrains. Now it is time to see the G-Class cross inches of water.
The latest video from Mercedes-Benz (see video at the top of this page) shows three steps to use your $120,000 SUV to get water.
You must first measure the depth of water you are about to enter. Mercedes has increased the G-Wagen’s water wading capability to 70 cm (2.3 ft), so that you are not limited. You don’t have the ability to measure water depth accurately so you can only guess .
Next, slowly and steadily enter the water. You can travel at a speed of 10 km/h (6.2 miles/h) but you must maintain a steady speed. No matter what, you should never stop, even if the waves catch your car behind.
Finally, the brakes will be wet from the experience. To dry them, tap the brake pedal lightly several times. This will dry your brakes and restore their function.
That’s it. You can now wade through water with your Mercedes G-Class. Although it might be the most luxurious SUV, its core DNA as an all terrain vehicle is still contained within its compact body.
Please don’t drive while wearing muddy boots.
