Mercedes Vision AMG Launches as Preview Of Performance Electric Vehicle

AMG claims this is its future.

The Mercedes-AMG Vision AMG Concept is a preview of a future electric performance vehicle. The model’s exterior looks are the main focus of the debut, with very little technical information.

Philipp Schiemer (CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH) said that the study gave a glimpse into how Mercedes-AMG GmbH is transferring AMG DNA to an all-electric future. This will begin in 2025. Although it’s unclear, this could be a hint as to when we might see the Vison AMG in production.

The Vision AMG rides on AMG.EA architecture. The drivetrain components are being developed by the company. Axial flux motors are the source of power.

Mercedes subsidiary YASA. The output details are not available, but the automaker claims that these units produce “substantially greater power than conventional electric engine Vision AMG has a long wheelbase and low-slung body. The large wheels have a F1-inspired appearance thanks to the pronounced fenders.

The concept’s front features a new take on the Panamericana Grille with vertical slats. However, EVs do not require openings. This case has a center section in body color with illuminated uprights. The surround lights up as well.

Three elements are used to create the Mercedes-Benz star logo-inspired headlights. They connect to the illuminated strip at the tip of your hood.

The roof is shaped like a teardrop and flows from a steeply raked Apillar. Mercedes paints the windows along the sides in the same Alubeam Silver color as the rest. The side mirrors are made of tiny stalks.

A spoiler is included on the short rear deck. It wraps around the flank of your body, running all the way up to the rear wheel well. Three brake lamps are located on the tail, one on each side. The lights have a tridimensional design that instantly evokes exhaust pipes. Below the brake lamps is a black diffuser.

The Vision AMG borrows styling cues from Mercedes Formula One cars. The teal accents on the diffuser and side sills are similar to those in the racer. The rear of both cars has the Mercedes star motif.
