Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt.
We have bad news for you if you’re still waiting for your brand-new Ford F-150. A train accident in northeastern Missouri resulted in the loss of several F-150s, Transits, and other vehicles earlier this week. According to the statement from Missouri Highway Patrol, nobody was seriously hurt and it was brought to our attention via The Drive.
Although the exact circumstances surrounding the rail accident are unknown at this time, it is known that the train was blocking a road in Ralls County. The photos show that it could take at most a few days for authorities to clear up the mess. The Drive reports that the vans and trucks being loaded were likely being transported from Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant, Claycomo in Missouri.
We estimate that there were 450 vehicles involved in the accident. This is a significant amount of damage, and it’s unlikely any of them are suffering only minor, fixable damage. Ford is likely to want them back so they can use their semiconductors in other vehicles.
Ford has had many delivery and production problems in the past few months. Ford has been facing numerous production and delivery problems over the last few months due to the global chip shortage. The F-150, which is its most popular nameplate for many years, seems to have been the worst. Flooding caused flooding to affect Dearborn’s production of the F-150, and Bronco.
Ford is currently reevaluating its production strategy because it is dissatisfied with how much it is spending on stockpiled vehicles. Ford is even contemplating building vehicles to order, reduce inventories and improve cash flow.
