Mitsubishi has revealed that the next generation Pajero will soon be available in Europe, starting this summer.
Other than the launch date, Mitsubishi has not released any information about the 2016 Pajero other than the availability of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. To be compatible with the car’s infotainment system, smartphones running Gogole’s OS need to run Android 5.0 (Lollipop), while iPhone users will need iOS 8.
The new Pajero is unlikely to have a design that was inspired by the GC-PHEV concept, which was updated recently for the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The new engine lineup will most likely be borrowed. It is a four-cylinder, turbodiesel engine with a 2.4-liter engine that produces 154 PS (113kW) and 380 Nm (278 lbft) respectively.
The L200 is available in Thailand as the Triton. It has 128 PS (94kW) and 194 Nm (1143lbft), and the 181 PS 2.4L diesel. There are also two versions of the 2.5-liter turbodiesel, with 128 PS and 240 Nm (173 lbft), and 178 PS (131kW) and 400 Nm (295lbft).
In the coming weeks, expect an official unveiling of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero (Eurospec) to take place.
