The supercar looks amazing in Miami Blue paint
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is one of the most popular cars of all time. It was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just a few days ago. This popularity is reflected in the launch of the configurator, the most powerful 911 road-going ever made by Zuffenhausen. You would need to pay $359,670 for each option, plus $1,050 destination. Rumours suggest that the whole 1,000-unit production run has already been reserved.
Buyers get a lot for the base price of $294 250 (includes destination). The GT2 RS’ 3.8-liter biturbo six generates 690 horsepower (515 kilowatts) and 553 poundfeet (775 Newton-meters) of torque. It is equipped with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox that transmits the power to the rear wheels.
You can add a lot to the GT2 RS by purchasing $65,420 options. The Weissach Package, which shaves off 39.68 lbs (17 kilograms), is the largest single portion of this sum. This package adds carbon fiber parts to the front lid and roof, rear wings, steering wheel trim, and paddles for the gearshift. Carbon fiber is also used for the anti-roll bars, end links and other parts. The pack also includes forged magnesium wheels.
Porsche also offers several performance options. The extended-range fuel tank is one of the most intriguing. It replaces the standard 16.9-gallon (64 liter) capacity with a 23.8-gallon (290 liter) part. The best part is that the upgrade costs only $140. Buyers can upgrade to the Sport Chrono Package for $550. This package includes an analog stopwatch in the dashboard and a digital stopwatch in the instrument cluster. The lap trigger allows for the recording of trips around the track and it also supports this package. A $3,490 front axle lift makes it easier to get over speed bumps.
You have many options to personalize a GT2 RS. Porsche offers eight exterior colors. There are four options that come with no cost: Black, Guards Red and Racing Yellow. The prices for GT Silver Metallic (pictured), Chalk, Lava Orange and Miami Blue are $4,220. You can also paint the wheels Satin Platinum ($690), Satin Aluminum ($330), or Black ($690). You can also make small aesthetic changes like the high-gloss black handles ($170), the lower portion of mirrors ($690), or the handle caps ($690). $730 is spent to add a carbon-fiber section at the point where A-pillars meet body before the mirrors.
Buyers have the option to personalize their interior. Standard cabins are made of Alcantara, leather and a mixture of red and black. The extended package costs $3,480 and comes in two colors: black with platinum grey stitching or black with red stitching. This pack adds high-end upholstery for the steering wheel and door panels, dashboard, center console, dashboard, pillars, and dashboard. The pack also includes three-point seat belts and door pull loops.
Customers can go wild from there. You can add some color to the climate control panel by painting it for $870, or the air vents for $1720. You can also get the Sport Chrono dial in black for $510 and instrument dials in white at $860. The Bose surround sound system is $1,600 for audiophiles.
Porsche dealers in the U.S. will receive the GT2 RS in early 2018.
