Dodge officially revealed the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 at SEMA.
The facelifted model has a bigger front splitter, modified front fascia, and a body-color spoiler. It also features a new exhaust system. Inside, the steering wheel has been replaced with a revised cluster of instruments.
The new 6.4-liter HEMI H8 engine produces 470 horsepower (350 kW/ 477 PS) as well as 470 lbft (637 Nm). The SRT8 is equipped with a five-speed auto (or a six-speed manual), which allows it to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in the “high 4 second range” and reach a maximum speed of more than 180 MPH (290 km/h). The new engine boasts an additional 45 horsepower (34 kW/ 46 PS) as well as 90 lbft (122 Nm). Dodge anticipates that the new engine will be 20% more efficient than its predecessor, the 6.1-liter V8. This is due to the variable intake manifold, multi cylinder deactivation and VVT technology.
Prices start at $45,080, and deliveries are planned for December.
