2020 Nissan Sentra to Be Revealed on November 19

We’ve already seen it as the Sylphy China.

The all-new Sylphy was introduced in China in April at Auto Shanghai. But it will not be until next week that the compact sedan will display side markers for its North American counterpart. Car and Driver have learned that the 2020 Sentra will be unveiled at an event to be held just before the Los Angeles Auto Show. You may recall that a order guide was posted to the Internet several weeks ago. It revealed the 2020 model. Sentra The manual gearbox might be lost as the standard model had a continuously variable transmission. You can choose between a manual or a CVT on the Sentra S, which is still available.

The Nissan document also revealed that the sedan would have a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 149 horsepower and torque of 145 pound feet (196 Newton-meters). This is an improvement on the current base model. The 2019 Sentra’s entry-level model has a 1.8-liter engine that produces 130 horsepower and 128 lbft (173Nm) of torque. If you wait for 2020MY, you will get an additional 19 hp (23 Nm) and 17 lb/ft (23 NM) respectively, provided you are able to live without the six speed manual. A more accurate comparison would be with the CVT-equipped 2019 Sentra which has 124 horsepower and 125lb-ft (163 Nm), or 25 hp (20 Nm) less than its replacement.

It is worth noting that we found a prototype of the Sentra in August with a six speed manual gearbox lever. This means that there are still options for those who like to row their own gears. You should wait until the official unveiling before you assume the new Sentra is a CVT-only model.

Apart from the increased power, the 2020 Sentra, U.S.-spec, will be able to replace the torsion beam rear suspension with a multilink suspension that is standard across all trims. This should improve handling and cornering ability.

Every trim level will receive the Nissan Safety Shield 360 range of systems as standard equipment, even the entry-level model. The car will have automatic high beams and emergency braking, as well as lane departure warning, blind spot alert, rear cross-traffic alarm, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, auto high beams, and lane departure warning.
