This will be the first SUV by the brand.
Lotus revealed an ambitious plan to launch four electric vehicles by 2026. Although this is a huge undertaking for the small brand of Lotus, the first of the four new electric vehicles will be available by 2026. We have a new teaser image as well as a video showing the new model. It highlights active grille shutters that provide improved cooling and “enhancedfrontal aerodynamics.”
Although details are scarce, Lotus promises that the SUV can travel 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds. The Type 132’s battery size will be between 92 and 120 kilowatts. This will allow the Type 132 to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds. The new model will be able to ride on , one of the company’s new platforms known as the Lotus Premium architecture.
Teaser image and video show a hexagon-shaped lower grille, which sits over a prominent carbon fiber front splitter. Six triangular shutters are divided each hexagon into six triangles. These shutters appear to open and close to cool the car’s motors and battery. Although the teasers give a glimpse of the car’s design, it is not like any Lotus model currently available. It will be the brand’s first SUV so it could surprise us.
The Type 132 will be the company’s flagship vehicle in the EV revolution. In 2023, a four-door coupe and an even larger SUV will be available. These two vehicles will sit above the Type 132 in Louts’ lineup. It will take the company a year to finish its new, all-electric sportscar for 2026. This will complete its all-electric lineup. Lotus will invest significant money in its electric efforts, including a new headquarters and factory in China called Lotus Technology.
