Perhaps there are more MC20s than Levante?
Maserati’s new SUV is close to completion of its testing phase. However, prototypes are still covered in camouflage wrap. We mean that the entire vehicle is covered, from top to bottom, even the wheels. We are now able to see the interior for the first time.
The driver’s side is the best angle, as the steering wheel and driver portion are visible. These photos were taken by our friend Walter Vayr is on Facebook These photos are taken from a distance but it looks like the Grecale’s wheel takes inspiration from the MC20. It is easy to see the prominent round airbag, and the short three-spoke design. You can also see reflections coming from the digital instrument cluster. From this point, at least, it appears quite different than the larger. Levante The Alfa Romeo Stelvio It shares its underpinnings with
You can also see the passenger side of the door with the door open. However, all we can see is the rectangular air conditioning vent located at the corner. The rest of the dash is covered. However, the raised cover at the middle suggests that the infotainment screen may be higher up than an integrated design. This would set the Grecale apart among the Levanti or Stelvio.
The camouflage pattern outside is the same as on the prototypes, but with some lumpy bits. The camouflage wrap is printed with Maserati’s emblem trident symbol. The branded wrap actually reaches the wheels. This is presumably to blend in better with the body. Although the wrap is still quite heavy, these photos give us a better look at Grecale’s backside. This is where you can see the taillight design with the bisecting metal strip.
The Grecale will be built next to the Stelvio. We expect to see a 2.0-liter mild hybrid powertrain, with the MC20’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine as an option. Maserati has announced that all new models will be available in an all-electric variant. The only thing left now is to remove the camo wrap, and officially sign the Grecale.
