The long-roof Golf that isn’t coming to the U.S.
The Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, and Golf Alltrack have been in service for a few months. It has been confirmed that both long-roof Germans will soon cease to be available in the United States. The Wolfsburg-based manufacturer will introduce a new Golf wagon, based on the eighth generation Golf. The more practical and family-friendly vehicle should arrive in October this year, according to preliminary information.
Three renderings of the Overboost BR Facebook We have a page preview of the Golf 8 wagon. It looks exactly like we expected. It’s simple, and we’ve seen it from Volkswagen many times. The body is almost identical to the five-door model with an extended rear to increase cargo space. It is very well-designed and looks great.
Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg plant will produce the new long-roof Golf. Its predecessor was made in Zwickau, Germany. The Golf Variant in Europe will be competing against similar offerings by Ford, Renault Peugeot, Kia and Hyundai in the C-segment.
However, it will be different on this side of the pond. Volkswagen America already confirmed that the GTI, R trims and the new Golf will only be available in the United States. These are not expected to arrive until at least 12 months. You can still buy a new Golf wagon in Canada. However, it is the seventh-generation version of the popular vehicle.
