Hot Wheels wants to be more competitive because, hot on the heels $120 Cadillac Seville model with Gucci branding, the toymaker has now partnered with IWC Schaffhausen. Hot Wheels Racing Works’ collector’s set is available for an incredible price of $10,000. There are only 50 units in total.
The set includes a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing model from 1955 that belonged to Laura Kraihamer, an Austrian racing driver. The two-tone combination of silver and black is the IWC sponsored car. To expose the bucket seats, roll cage and red sill trim, the doors of the toy version can be opened. The machine is displayed on a number-numbered stand. The vehicle is also supplied with a metal toolbox to complete its presentation.
This watch is the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph edition. It runs at 28800 vibrations an hour and has a 46-hour battery life. The chronograph functions allow you to time long-term events by displaying the hours, minutes and seconds. It also displays the date and time. The watch features a titanium grade 5 case and an engraving of Hot Wheels’ flame logo at the 9 o’clock edge. The face features a checkered-flat design. The numerals and hands are in white. It measures 43 millimeters in width and 14.9 millimeters in length. It is made of a textile material that has a black-and silver two-tone design.
Works collector’s item up for auction. The current bid is PS14,000 and the sale closes on October 22. The IWC Manufacture Center is available for a virtual tour and the winner will receive signed gloves by Laura Kraihamer. The Two Bit Circus Foundation receives all proceeds from the auction. The foundation is a non-profit that encourages entrepreneurship in children and young inventors. It also promotes environmental stewardship.
