1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 454 Barn Find Reveals The King Of Muscle

There were over 4,000 LS6 Chevelles produced. One of these was found hiding.

“There is no substitute for displacement.” This adage was never more true in the original muscle car era of the late ’60s & early ’70s. The 1970 Chevy Chevelle, SS 454 was the most notable of all the muscle cars that had hulking V8s.

Many consider him the king of muscle cars era. There were more than 4,000 LS6 Chevelle SS manufactured – and one of them is now out of hiding thanks to the YouTube channel Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Findings.

The presenter found a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 in an undisclosed area (except for the reference to “Wild Wild West”) The vehicle has been in the barn since 1986, but it has not been seen on the roads since 1979. It has a black exterior and white stripes in tuxedo, as well as the cowl-induction, which was an extremely sought-after feature back then.

Under the hood is the 454 cubic inch (7.4 liters), LS6 V8. This was the largest and most powerful LS6 engine of its day. The LS6 was equipped with a single four-barrel 800 CFM HOLley carburetor and produced 450 horsepower (336 kilowatts), and 500 pound-feet (678 Newton meters) of torque. This particular example is equipped with the M40 automatic transmission.

This particular classic Chevelle SS is in poor condition as it has been sitting around for quite some while. Although the paint is starting to fade, the body has not rusted. The interior is also in disarray, with the upholstery on the bucket seats severely damaged and ripped.

Unfortunately, this car is not for sale. We wish that this car king would be restored to its former glory.
