The sight of this UFO on wheels, low and low, would be amazing on the roads.

James Glickenhaus, an ultra-rich auto enthusiast, purchased Pininfarina’s avant-garde Ferrari 512S Modulo idea for an undisclosed amount in 2014. He then undertook a complete restoration. Pininfarina intended the Modulo as a styling exercise. However, Glickenhaus’ talented group has made it a road-going vehicle and recently recorded its maiden journey.

Original debut of the 512S Modulo was at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show. It featured an eye-catching body that looked almost like a UFO floating above road. The wheels were partially obscured by fairings that covered the fenders. There weren’t even doors. Instead, the cockpit glass was slid forward in one piece. The V12 was mid-mounted and produced 550 horsepower (410 Kilowatts).

Pininfarina states that the Modulo won 22 international design awards. The Modulo was also presented at the Osaka Expo 1970 and Mexico City 1971.

Glickenhaus has two vehicles in development. The SCG004, which is the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’s upcoming sports car is the Boot, the firm’s vision of an off-roader.
