This May, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe will go on sale in Europe. The engines include the 500Nm E250 CDI engine and the E500 with 285kW. As an option, you can also purchase the AMG Sports Pack.
Mercedes-Benz released additional details about the two-door E-Class Coupe. The Coupe replaces the previous CLK range and is built on the W212 E-Class platform. The four-seat hardtop coupe has no B-pillars, and fully retractable side glass. Mercedes-Benz claims it has the lowest Cd value of all series-production cars at 0.24. This makes it very aerodynamic.
The car comes standard with Merc’s Agility Control suspension system. This automatically adjusts to the road conditions. Pre-Safe has the brake feature which automatically brakes the vehicle if it senses imminent danger and the driver hasn’t reacted to previous warnings. Attention Assist, another useful safety feature, uses approximately 70 parameters to determine whether the driver is alert or not.
The E250 CDI BlueEFICIENCY engine is the most popular in the diesel category. It produces 150kW (204hp), and 500 Nm of torque. The average fuel consumption is 5.1 litres/100 km. Next comes the E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 170kW (231hp), and maximum torque at 540Nm. This model consumes 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 km on the EU cycle.
The E250 CGI is 150kW (204hp), the E350 CGI 215kW (292hp), and the E500 CGI 285kW (388hp) with 530Nm torque and 285kW (388hp).
The COMAND control center on the front cluster uses a wheel similar to the S-Class to control aspects such as the CD player, radio and satellite navigation.
The Avantgarde and Elegance are trim options. Each offers different customer needs. AMG Sports packs will also be available. The package includes AMG light alloy wheels 18 inches in diameter, two-tone leather interior, and a sports pedal cluster.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe will go on sale in Europe at the beginning of May.
