Inside, find out what the two new Holden Caprice 2011 models can offer Kiwis and Aussies.
Holden, a GM-owned Australian brand, has released details about the 2011 Holden WM Series II Caprice as well as the Caprice V-Series. Holden will no longer use the Statesman badge with this Series II update. Next month, both vehicles will be available in Australia and New Zealand.
Series II features a 282-horsepower (210 kW) SIDI V6 direct injection engine that’s mated with a six speed Active Select automatic transmission. The new coupling only delivers four percent more fuel economy than the V6-powered Caprice. This equates to 9.9 liters per 100 km or nearly 24 mpg (US).
According to the press release, the new model will include “upgrades in comfort, convenience, and safety.” Although these upgrades weren’t specified, it appears that the Holden-iQ touchscreen infotainment system would be available. These upgrades include real-time traffic alerts and Bluetooth, USB connection and a rear camera display.
The Holden Caprice V-Series might be the car for you if you are looking for more power. The 6.0-liter V8 engine produces 349 horsepower (260kW) and is available in a variety of colors. The V-Series uses the same automatic transmission that the Series II and requires 12.3 liters to travel 100 km, or 19 mpg (US).
The V-Series comes with a Nappa leather interior and tri-zone climate control. Bose audio is also included. Rear passengers can watch DVDs on the LCD screens. If the car is stationary, those in front can view the entertainment on the Holden Q screen.
The new Alto Grey, Mirage Glow Beige and Sizzle metallic Red are the available colors. You also have the option of Phantom metallic black, Karma metallic white, Nitrate metallic silver, and Karma metallic blue.
