Land Rover announced several updates to the 2012 Discovery 4 & Range Rover Sport.
The 3.0-liter SDV6 diesel engine produces 256 PS (188kW/252 hp) as well as 600 Nm (443lb-ft). This is an 11 PS (8 kW/11 hp) increase. The engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel and a Jaguar-inspired rotating gear-selector. This allows both models to emit 230g/km less CO2.
The SUVs have restyled wheels, an optional 17 speaker 825W Harmon Kardon stereo system, and updated infotainment systems that allow for voice control. Hill Start Assist, Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist are also available to the Discovery 4, while the Range Rover Sport features a power-operated tailgate as well as a 7-inch touchscreen display with Dual View technology.
