2012 Mercedes SLK-Class debut in Geneva

The new compact roadster has improved handling over its predecessor and an open cabin that is quieter.

Mercedes-Benz has brought the 2012 SLK roadster to the Geneva auto salon.

The third-generation SLK retains many of the design cues of Mercedes-Benz’s current design language. This includes the bullish, upright grille and bonnet lines that refer to the SLS.

Convertible SLK features a vario-roof and Magic Sky Control, which allows you to adjust the tint of your panoramic folding hard-top roof from brighter to darker.

The SLK350 has two engine options: a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 PS (302 kW/ 302 HP) or a turbocharged 1.8-liter unit that produces 201 PS (148kW).

The new generation has firmer springs, dampers, and torque-vectoring brakes which improve the ride. Airguide windstop technology aids in comfort for both the driver and the passenger. It reduces noise and regulates airflow when the top is down.

The Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster can be ordered in Germany already and will soon make its way to American dealer showrooms.
