Online, several new photos of the 2013 Saab 9-3 are now available.

The model was originally scheduled to debut at 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It would be the first new car to come from the post GM era. Saab recognized the gravity of the situation, and hired Jason Castriota as a stylist to help create a new style language that would reflect the company’s history while also remaining modern.

The model looked great as the photos show. It had a very attractive profile, with a sloped roofline and strong rear wheel haunches. You can also see the PhoeniX-inspired front fascia with blacked-out A-pillars, and prominent rear spoiler.

The Phoenix platform was to be the vehicle for the model. It would also feature a range of BMW-sourced 1.5- and 2.0-liter engines. Saab was forced to file bankruptcy late 2011 so the company didn’t get the chance to unveil the car.
