2014 Audi A4 plug in hybrid will offer e-Quattro

The 2014 Audi A4 is starting to get new details (B9).

AutoBild says the car will be able to ride on the MLB Evo platform, which will allow it to weigh 120-150 kg (265-331 lbs) less than its current model. The A4 will be larger than the BMW 3-Series despite its reduced mass.

The engine options are still a secret. However, the TDIs should produce 150 to 300 PS (110 kW / 148 hp up to 221 kW / 296, hp). The petrol engines should produce 150 to 350 PS (110kW/148 hp- 221 kW/ 296 hp). The models will be equipped with an engine stop/start, brake energy regeneration, and a thermal recovery system to improve efficiency.

The A4 plug-in hybrid will be able to drive 30-60 km on electricity, which is not eco-friendly. This setup will also offer an all-wheel-drive system called e-Quattro, which will not have any mechanical connection between the axles.

Last but not the least, word has it that a CNG variant will be launched as part Audi’s E-gas project.
