2014 BMW M4 speculatively rendered
The BMW M3 Coupe will be renamed the M4 Coupe, but it remains to see if they do. Jacek Kolodziejczyk, a graphic designer, has created renderings that show what the M3 Coupe will look like.

Many reports indicate that BMW may rename M3 Coupe the M4. Jacek Kolodziejczyk, aka Iacoski, has created renderings that show what the M3 Coupe will look like.

Iacoski created a plausible proposal using the new BMW 3-Series (F30), sedan, as his base. He took all the M design characteristics and skillfully integrated them into the F30 as an F30 coupe.

The front bumper fascia has a blacked-out grille and features a built-in lower lip spoiler. There are also side mirrors/M indicator lamps, fender vents/M indicator lamps, side mirrors, flared wheel arches, side skirts, scalloped side walls, muscular rear bumper design, and quad exhaust pipes that look like a group of grenade launchers. The final sporting touch is the large, flat graphite-colored wheels.

The 3-Series Coupe was released in 2013, possibly renamed the 4-Series. The M version, possibly named M4, would be released one year later in 2014.

There is much speculation about which engine will be installed. The M3’s current V8 engine will be downsized, just like the M5 went from V10 to twin turbo V8. It is clear that a six-cylinder engine will be used, and turbocharging is also used. However, it is not known if the M3’s V8 engine will be single turbo, bi or triple turbo.

We do know that the M3 or M4 will eliminate the torque vectoring differential. This differential can send different amounts of power to each wheel. In favor of an electronically controlled differential like that found in F10’s M5 (F10), one thing is certain. This information was obtained from Road & Track magazine through an interview with Albert Biermann, head of product development for the M division.
