Cadillac has officially revealed the 2016 ATS-V Coupe and Sedan, just in time for their debut at Los Angeles Auto Show.
The ATS-V is described as a dual-purpose luxury performer. It features a front fascia featuring a mesh grille, larger intakes and an aggressive front fascia. It also features a front splitter, ventilated carbon fibre hood and an exhaust system made of carbon fiber. Further back are aerodynamic side skirts and prominent rear spoiler. There’s also a four-tailpipe exhaust system. The cars are equipped with lightweight alloy wheels of 18 inches and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
The models can also be outfitted with Track and Carbon Fiber packages if they aren’t sporty enough. Carbon Fiber packages include a more aggressive front splitter and carbon fiber hood vent trim, as well as a carbon fibre rear diffuser. The Track package includes the Carbon Fiber package and a lightweight battery. It also includes a Performance Recorder.
Although the interior is largely unchanged from the standard model, it features carbon fiber trim and an instrument cluster with V Series graphics. Recaro performance seating can be ordered by customers, which are available in leather or sueded microfiber.
Under the hood is a twin-turbo, 3.6-liter V6 motor that produces 455 horsepower (339 kW), and 445 lbft (603 Nm). You can connect it to either a 6-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match or an optional 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
Cadillac did not provide any performance data, but they confirmed that one of the models can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 3.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of over 185 MPH (297 km/h).
The models boast a stiffer chassis, a shock tower-to plenum brace, rear cradle–to-rocker braces, and engine compartment V braces. Engineers added a retuned suspension and an electronic limited slip differential, Magnetic Ride Control, and a high-performance Brembo brake system.
The 2016 Cadillac ATSV lineup will be available for purchase next spring. Pricing will be announced closer.
