2016 Ford Ka spy tested in European specification

Thethird generation Ford Ka (Euro-spec)

has once again been caught on camera testing prior to next year’s expected market launch.

Ford’s near-production Ka idea was unveiled at the end 2013 and now they are ready to unveil the Euro version. It will, as you can see, be larger than the previous model and will also have rear doors which will make it more practical. Ford designed the new Ka as a global model. They said that the European version will be “affordable” and provide “remarkable fuel economy.”

The Euro model is being released slowly as the Brazilian model has been in production for some time. This model looks almost identical to the one seen here, so it’s not surprising that the prototype is camouflaged. The car spotted here is likely to be more European-oriented than the BR-spec model and may have additional safety equipment to conform to local laws.

The powertrain for the new Ka is unknown. However, the EcoBoost 100 PS three-cylinder 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine is a possibility. It could also receive the TiVCT 85 PS 1.0 liter offered on the BR-spec models. The 75 PS 1.5-liter TDCi, which is also safe, will offer the same great fuel economy as the previous model.

A public unveiling is planned for March at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales will begin shortly afterwards.
