With a six-speed manual transmission, torque jumps to 177 lb-ft (240 Newton-meters), and 162 lb/ft (219.6 NM) with the CVT. Regular Civics produce 167 lbft (226.8 Nm) with a manual transmission, and 162 with a CVT (162 lbft). The Sport trim is $22,135 for a manual transmission or $22,935 for the CVT. These models share more equipment than the base LX version. However, they have the option of leather upholstery for the steering wheel or gearshift.
The Sport Touring will go on sale later than the range-topping trim. Honda does not yet have pricing information. The only available gearbox is the CVT. These models come with amenities such as automatic windshield wipers and heated seats for front and back, dual-zone climate control and a 12-speaker stereo.
Customers who don’t need the extra power can also choose the EX at $23,635 or EX-L Navi for $26,135. The five-door Honda Civic will be used as the base, while the hot hatch will follow in 2017. The model will sport an aggressive front fascia and a small hood scoop. It may even exceed the current ‘s 306 horsepower (228kW).
