2018 GMC Terrain Starting at $25,970, Denali Loaded with Tech

Although prices are higher than last year’s model but the 2018 model year offers lighter vehicles, new engines and better features, they still have a good deal.

The company has revealed that the latest generation of its crossover, the 2018 GMC Terrain, is now available at a starting price of $25,970, after a $975 destination fee. They will be available at dealers by the end of this summer.

The Terrain Denali’s only available engine is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder with 252-horsepower (288-watt), and it is exclusive to that engine. The lineup will soon include a 1.5-liter turbofour with 170-hp (127 kW) and a 1.6-liter turbodiesel of 137 horsepower (102 kW). The gasoline-powered mills have a nine-speed auto transmission with a controversial design. The diesel comes with a six speed automatic. You can choose between front- or all-wheel drive depending on the trim.

The general trend for automakers is to increase the size of their models for new generations, but the Terrain actually shrinks by 3.2 inches (8.13 cmi). The latest model’s lightest version is also lighter due to the new platform. It weighs in at 465 pounds (211 kilograms).

The Denali top-spec offers buyers an extensive range of standard equipment. A standard safety suite includes blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and rear park assist. These models include LED headlights as well as an 8-inch infotainment screen with navigation.

The 2017 Terrain offers a wide range of engine and trim options. Below is the table that shows the minimum base price of each model with a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine. SLE-2 and higher trims were also offered a 3.6-liter V6. The Denali cost $1,900 more and the V6 was $1,500 less than the four-cylinder in the lower grades.
