The “+” trim level brings more technology at a lower price.
Hyundai updated its Sonata model year range with some new packages, though it is not a complete overhaul. The Sonata is now better equipped and more affordable thanks to the addition of the “+” edition trim level. This adds many desirable features without costing too much.
The Sonata SEL+, Sport+ trims come standard with features such as a sport mesh grille, front fascia, dual-automatic climate control, rear vents mounted on the floor, Qi wireless charging, heated steering wheel, and an auto up/down driver’s window. The Tech Package includes Hyundai’s Advanced Driver Assist system, which includes automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist.
The 2018 SEL+ is priced at $23,700. This adds $580 to the total cost of the standard SEL trim. The SEL+ with Tech Package is available for $24,300. You can get the Sport+ trim for $24,800 with an additional value of $950. The Sport+ with the Technology Package is $25,400.
The Sonata Limited comes standard with the Tech Package. The Sonata Limited comes with the Ultimate+ Package. It also has a panoramic sunroof. Six new “+” trims have been added (including Tech Packages). Here is how the pricing structure works in its entirety.
Except for the Sonata Limited 2.0T+, all trims are powered by the same 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower (137 kilowatts), and 178 poundfeet (241 Newton meters) of torque. The Limited 2.0T+ trim’s turbocharged 2.0-liter engine produces 245 horsepower (182 kW) 260 lbft (352Nm) and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
