The redesigned compact Kia has made it easy to use with a variety of submodels.
Although the new Kia Ceed was just announced a few days ago, it has yet to make its public debut. This will happen at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. However, X-Tomi Design already has renders of the hatchback (now without the apostrophe in both a wagon as well as a fastback version).
Kia actually said that there would be four more models for the Ceed over the coming months and years. One of these is a wagon, which will appear in Geneva shortly. Although it is not certain that the new model will look exactly like the rendering above, we can be confident that the new model will have an elongated rearside and a gentle curve to the side glasses. The fastback will most likely be an imagination-only flight-of-fancy.
We know that Kia will offer the five-door wagon and wagon versions, as well as a Ceed crossover. A Ceed GT hot hatchback, which should be launched before the crossover, is also in the works. However, none of these models are suited for a fastback.
Ceed has another variant that could look like this fastback. It is a production version of the elegant Proceed concept , which we first saw in 2017. Conceptually, the Proceed had a more shooting brake look with its longer frontfenders. However, production could see a sleeker shape similar to the fastback. That’s totally fine with us.
We’ll continue to get to know the Ceed at Geneva, and behind the wheel during a first drive. All of this will happen soon.
