The company also adds some standard tech and a new exterior color.
The 2018 model year saw small changes to the sedan by Nissan in order to keep the Maxima fresh. The standard Android Auto feature is now available to buyers. This adds to Apple CarPlay support in the infotainment system. Rear passengers receive two USB ports to charge their phones. The exterior of the sedan is now available in Carnelian Red with black accents on the grille.
The company previously introduced automatic emergency braking as an option in its 2018 lineup, which includes the Maxima. The tech uses radar technology to determine the distance between vehicles ahead and signal drivers if collision is possible. The system will reduce speed automatically if there is no response.
Only one available drivetrain is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 300 horsepower (224kilowatts) as well as a CVT to drive the front wheels.
