Are you ready to plough?
Are you looking to conquer even the most difficult winter conditions? Nissan might have the answer – but it’s not like the track-riding Rogue idea last year. The 2018 Titan XD pickup gets a Snow Plow Prep Pacakge. This includes high-capacity springs that can be used to attach a plow made by five of the top snow plow manufacturers.
This package will be available in the fall on XD Single Cab and King Cab models. It can also be configured with any Boss or Fisher, Meyer, SnowEx or Western plow. The package’s addition increases the front gross axle weight rating (GAWR), capacity by 575 lb (260 kgs), raising the curb weight from 4,325 lb (1,961 kg) to 4,900 lb (2,222 kilograms). This extra weight allows snowplows to be fitted on the XD Crew Cab S grade up to 786 pounds (356 kg).
Snow plow packages can only be ordered with the V8 gasoline engine. However, snow plow owners won’t have the ability to use the diesel’s 555 pound-feet (752 Nm) of torque. The 5.6-liter engine still produces 390 horsepower (290 kg) and 394 pounds-feet (534 Nms) of torque.
“Following the recent years of higher than average snowfall, experts predict a wild winter season this year,” stated Billy Hayes, division vice-president, LCV and Trucks, Nissan North America Inc. “Get your new TITAN XD prepared this fall… and let’s snow!” The Nissan Titan is priced at $32,550 for the S King Cab 4×2 base model. Those who are interested in the XD model need to pay $33,560 for the S King Cab 4-x2. The Titan costs $50,490 for XD Pro-4X Kings Cab 4×4. The Snow Plow Package price will be added to the regular Titan XD’s price.
