This is the best view of the next-Camry. It appears that the model has received a significant aesthetic overhaul. It looks great.
Toyota has done a great job keeping the next-generation 2018 Camry secret. However, a new set of spy photos captures the sedan’s future testing on the road. Because of its sharper styling, the new model seems to have escaped the stigma of being the automobile equivalent of the color brown. This model is even more aggressive thanks to a few extra parts.
The last Camry that we reviewed had a lot of cladding. This Camry has camouflage. The camouflage doesn’t conceal the vehicle’s lines as well. The front features a wide grille and headlights that look similar to the leaked photo of the next NASCAR racing edition. Although the intakes are smaller, there is a strong family resemblance.
The Camry also looks fantastic in profile. The nose taper to a point and the shoulder line is markedly creased. The roof is curvaceous, and seems to divide the difference between a stylish four-door coupe’s appearance and the more spacious interior of a sedan. This example has a sporty appearance, particularly by Camry standards.
The trunk is adorned with a spoiler and narrow taillights that wrap around the rear. The exhausts come out of each corner and are dual-exit. Although not as aggressive as a full diffuser the extended rear fascia makes the car look sporty with the way it surrounds them.
We didn’t expect the basic Camry trims to look so aggressive. This Camry is most likely a sporty trim. This model is visually more interesting than the one currently on the road, even without its performance-oriented parts.
Rumours suggest that the base engine for the Camry would be a 2.5-liter four cylinder. However, it would run on an Atkinson cycle to improve fuel economy. Modular TGNA platforms are now available on the new model. This platform is also included in the latest Prius. The new model will be lighter. The lineup also includes , a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. This might be a good choice for the sporty version. You can expect hybrid soon, too. At this time, it is not clear if a V6 will also be part of the lineup.
The Camry’s next-generation model year will see it go on sale in 2018. Expect a debut sometime this year. The premiere is expected to take place at an event during the first half or even at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
