2019 Audi Q3 – Featuring 99 Percent of the Camo Gone

2019 Audi Q3 - Featuring 99 Percent of the Camo GoneAnother model is available with fake exhausts.

Audi has launched the Q8 and is now preparing to update its Q family with the introduction of the next-generation Q3. This prototype was taken almost unobtrusively, with very little black tape around the edges of the taillights and headlights. The official unveiling is expected to be imminent. Although the Audi logos are missing, you don’t need to be a car enthusiast to see that this crossover will carry the Four Rings when it is revealed in full.

The Q3’s front fascia is very similar to the Audi Q8’s, although it isn’t as elaborate, considering we already mentioned it. The prototype is likely to have been a lower-spec model, judging from the small alloy wheels. So expect an S Line model in another color.

The Q3’s taillights are not aligned on the tailgate as they do on the Q8. The rear lights were lit by halogen bulbs. This is another reason we think this trim level may be cheaper. A different prototype with a better rear LED arrangement was seen earlier. Although the rear bumper appears to have what appear to be very large exhaust tips, closer inspection will reveal that the true tailpipe is beneath.

Side profile: Audi moved the mirrors lower than the Q3’s, which were located near the base of A-pillars. The new character lines, which are inspired from the Q8, are the upper and lower. Although the test vehicle isn’t larger than the Q3, it could be that the next-gen model will be bigger, especially in terms of the wheelbase.

Although this spy shot does not include interior images, the cabin is not that secret as a different prototype (pictured below) was seen inside the cabin back in April. The interior featured a digital instrument cluster with a large touchscreen for infotainment, which was integrated into the center console. This eschews the tablet-styled Q3 screen. The Q8 will get a second touchscreen to control the climate, while the smaller crossover will keep the physical controls.

MQB-based Audi Q3 is expected to debut in the coming weeks. It will be followed by a warm Q3 and a hotter RQ3. Both performance derivatives have been spotted at Nurburgring in recent days.
